indeed a cold summer.
Early in the morning, my mum will start her daily FM, chanting about how poor our family is and how "We couldn't celebrate Chinese New Year like we used to be anymore." - Family financial problem at its worst. No ang baos, no friends and relatives visitings 'cuz we don't have the money to do so. If 2010 is like this, how about 2011 and 2012? Can i even survive school life till then? My mum is already at her early 55ish, unemployed, my dad 50ish, odd jobs.(Sometimes he didn't even get to work for a few weeks.) They can't even find a new/stable job 'cuz they don't speak English. Two months without paying electricity bills and shits due to the fact that they are paying for my school fees. Blame me, but we can't stay like this forever - not in Singapore, when everything needs money.I felt so confused, lost, why of all things, all people, this happens to me. It's really hard, I have to reject friends when they ask me to go out because i can't even afford to go out. 20$ per week, sometimes including bus fare, can't really survive in Poly-life. To friends that I had always 'rejected' to, especially to birthday celebrations, gatherings, I am so sorry. I don't want it to be like this. God, why is this happening to me? Secondary school commitments, BA Society commitments, how can i find a job with them? Maybe i should really quit school and drop all my commitments and start finding a permanent job to support my family. That will really sacrifice a lot, friends, educations. Why is everything so unfair? Burdens. I hate fucking rich bustards who are so rich that they don't appreciate education, they skip school, they fail their examinations and still get to study overseas while fucking poor people like me wants to be educated, but couldn't(soon) afford them. You couldn't imagine how i felt - While everyone is so happy, excited about the upcoming new year, i am at home, hoping that it won't come. A new year without celebrations, so how is that consider a Happy Chinese New Year? Someone : "The Janet I know is strong and don't give up easily no matter what happens." Well, i cannot stay strong forever, it's hard, all this years, i have always tried to tell myself to stay strong 'cuz it will be over soon, but this time round, it's just hard. Poor people are looked down upon. And no I don't need your sympathy. Life sucks. *cough* Google Ads *cough* |
